If ever there were a love hate relationship in your life, it probably exists in the way you feel towards your emotions. Some emotions are so amazing to feel and some are just tough and hard. But in order to truly take part in the full mortal experience, you must become really good at feeling ALL the emotions. When you can get to a place where emotions are neither good nor bad is when you know you are reaching emotional maturity. Emotions were given to you by Heavenly Father and you are meant to feel every single one of them. So come have a listen as Heather and coach Crystal Hansen discuss this very important topic.
We can often think that popping a pill for our depression will fix everything, but that rarely is the case. There is still so much we need to learn about our minds and mind management that the tools of coaching can help with. To have depression is just one part of depression. We have thoughts about having depression and we need to make sure we address those not from just the medical side of combatting this disease. Coach Emylee McIntyre is here today to chat about the work that can be done if you suffer from depression and want to know how to do the mind management piece as well.
When your children make choices that are contrary to what you taught them, the natural tendency is to get angry but often it is in those moments that they need us the most. Coach Bonnie Lyman is on a mission to help every parent who struggles in their relationships with their adult children. Bonnie so wisely stated, “[As an adult parent] you really have one assignment. It’s just to love them.” The question is, how exactly do you love them in the ways they need? Bonnie shares the beliefs you need so that your relationship with them can grow - even though it’s different than how it was when they were little. Essentially, you have to be willing to quit your job to younger children and take on the new job of parenting adult children. It’s not easy, but it can be done and love can always be present as you drop the expectations and release your children of being the keepers of your happiness.
We are in the holiday season. Thanksgiving has just passed and I’m sure you are gearing up for Christmas. Amongst all the festivities of the season, perhaps you are eyeing the new year and thinking that when 2022 comes THEN you will focus on losing some weight. Coach Kami Banks wants you to know that you can start your journey right now. You don’t have to wait for the clock to strike midnight on January 1st to start taking steps towards better health. Her philosophy when it comes to lasting weight loss is to focus on what you can put into your body instead of what you are going to deprive it of. She wants you to start including in your diet all the amazing fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods that your body needs to function at its highest level instead of focusing on not eating your favorite Christmas cookies and traditional holiday dishes.
There are most likely very few of us who welcome and enjoy painful emotions, thoughts, and experiences, and yet life seems to have a way of making sure no one escapes this mortal existence without feeling pain in one way or the other. But life also seems to have a way of making sure we also feel joy and happiness. The existence of seemingly polar opposites is how our Heavenly Father designed this life to be. When we embrace the “opposition in all things” is when we embrace the full human experience.
On some level, we all like rules. They create order and prevent unnecessary pain and suffering. For example, when you are out and about driving I’m sure you really appreciate having rules of the road and having those around you follow them. The consequence of not following some rules can be devastating and life altering. BUT, there are rules that we tend to live by that aren’t really rules. We have just adopted them because a large part of society thinks they are things we “should” or “need” to do. Those are fake rules.
I want you to think back to the last time you got sick - throw up sick. How did you feel right before you threw up and right after? Most likely you felt horrible right before you got sick and hopefully you felt better right after. Thoughts that swirl in our head can be just like a stomach bug. They make us feel terrible if we try to keep them in our brain, and not until we get them out of our head, do we finally feel better. Today on the podcast I discuss with coach Joey Mascio the importance of taking the unproductive thoughts swirling in our head out and putting them somewhere where we will not only feel better but can do something about those thoughts.
Does your teen suffer from anxiety? If so, then you definitely want to listen to this episode with coach Jill Freestone where she talks about the importance of normalizing anxiety and creating an environment where your teen is validated and heard. As parents we can often fear what may happen if our child suffers from anxiety. Often in that fear we either ignore the anxiety or try and “fix” it. But anxiety is not supposed to be fixed. It is an emotion we need to learn to move through, welcome, and not resist.
As a parent, your inability or lack of willingness to feel your own emotions when it comes to your teens' emotions could be the very thing holding them back from having the self-confidence they need to accomplish the work God has sent them to earth to do. On today’s episode of the podcast, coach Cheree Murdock discusses the reasons she feels teens need more self-confidence, what parents can do to make sure their teens have it, and why the world so desperately needs more self-confident teenagers. Cheree believes you can never have too much self-confidence and she’s on a mission to help every teen she can gain as much of it as possible.
Within each of our mortal bodies resides our true self - our spiritual bodies. These spirit bodies are thousands of years old and very wise. When we learn to tap into their wisdom is when we gain a better relationship with ourselves and with God. So how do we do that? How do we tap into all the wisdom we have within us? For coach Elisa Fucci it comes down to knowing your individual values and then living by them. Come listen as Elisa’s thousands of years old spirit calls to your spirit to live the life you’ve been meant to live and to not only save the relationship you have with yourself, but every other one as well.
