Gather your family for great stories from great storytellers. Stories bring us together and the stories on The Apple Seed will spark memories that you can share with the people you love. The Apple Seed is a storytelling podcast by BYUradio and is hosted by Sam Payne.
It's time for The Apple Seed! Today’s episode is full of crazy animal antics, meaningful life lessons, and a classic spooky night that dads can’t help but make the best of. First up is “Samurai Over My Head”, by Donna Washington, introduced to us by assistant producer Alyssa Mingorance.
Today’s episode is filled with strong and witty women, animals both as big as an elephant or as small as a flea, and so much more! We’ll start off with “Unanana and the Elephant” by Tim Lowry, a tale of the creative lengths a mother will go to in order to protect others, especially when it comes to her children.

Summertime and the livin’ is easy,” so said the great George Gershwin in his classic song. It’s nearing the end of summer but we wanted to share with you some classic tales that reminded us of summertime. We all have great summer memories - biking with your friends, going on adventures, playing baseball, climbing rocks and wading in rivers, visiting family and coming home again.
We all have memories to share, and those memories are the moments that make up the stories of our lives. When we share those memories, we can touch the lives of those around us and become part of their story. Whether through words, or even small artifacts, we all have stories tied to other people.

It’s important to experience the world, to see the sights, and to meet new people. As we do, we become more cultured and able to connect with others. As we connect with others we can make the world a better place, and even better to experience.

Being tricked can be a pleasant or an unpleasant experience. For example, have you ever had a surprise party thrown in your honor? That can be a pleasant trick. Or if someone tricks you into thinking you’re not getting the birthday gift you want, but lo and behold, you did get it. That’s also pleasant.
