Today we’re discussing the time I was part of the “bad kids” in school and how I eventually escaped with my life– but just barely. Not really, but it’s still a pretty good story.
We examine why flavor is our "most neglected sense" and we meet a restaurant owner who, in the spirit of the fictional "Babette's Feast," is spreading the message that "Food Is Love."

We're doing our best and doing all the right things and still, sometimes bad things happen to us. Here's what we can learn from Joseph of Egypt about how, with God, we can turn bad things into good and rise above our challenges.
Props to the late Stephen R. Covey for the inspiration on this message that goes so well setting up the story of Joseph.
Have you ever been falsely accused of something? There was one time that I was, and it was the most frustrating and heartbreaking situation to be in.
Everyone wants to be a fun parent, but "fun" can seem antithetical to household rules and structures. But there seems to be a disconnect between what parents see as "fun" and what their kids think. While some parents think their kids want free reign of the house and no curfew, what they actually want may be more meaningful. In this episode, Lisa talks with friends and experts about what it really means to be a "fun parent" while still saying, "no."
While repentance is a key component of overcoming our weaknesses and being able to return to live with God again, it can often feel heavy and have a lot of shame associated with it. But what if it didn’t need to be that way? What if we could come at repentance from a different angle and instead of feeling heavy, feel lighter and filled with more hope? Coach Amy Elkins feels that when we can view repentance as the process that allows us to move towards our next best work, the process isn’t heavy anymore but something we can use as a springboard to our progression. Amy and Heather have a beautiful discussion on how repentance and sin can be viewed differently so that we use it as a tool to turn our weaknesses into strengths. This is a great episode on how the gospel and coaching come together to help us gain more awareness in our lives.
Before we get into the awesome story of Joseph, there is a cool little principle in Genesis 35 that serves as a wonderful reminder of our need for covenants and holy places.
