How Can We Reduce Gun Violence in America?

About 45,000 Americans died from gun violence in 2022. A similar number died the year before. About half of those deaths are gun suicides. The other half are gun homicides. Mass shootings tend to capture the most attention and outrage, but they’re just a small fraction of the total number of gun deaths each year. How can we reduce gun violence in America? Reducing the number of firearms in the country might help, but significant gun control laws seem unlikely in today’s current political climate. Matthew 13; Luke 8; 13

In this episode we'll talk about Matthew 13 and Luke 8 and 11. We'll also discuss the parable of the sower, and the implications it has for personal change in our lives. We'll talk about how people have to be ready and willing for change for it to be effective. We'll also discuss how comparing our degrees of change to others is not helpful, and we need to celebrate our own successes appropriately.

There's going to be imperfections in anything that is alive and growing and living. It's just a fact of life. We are all human and make mistakes. The church is a living organism."
